Gustav Klimt - (July 14, 1862 - February 6, 1918) - was an Austrian painter, draftsman and muralist. He created mainly erotic works and he focused on the nude female body.
Recipient of Golden Order of Merit from Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria, he was also an honorary member of the University of Vienna and the University of Munich. His paintings sell for tens of millions USD, and have even exceeded $100 million dollars.
