Diego Rivera Art Prints Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez (1886 - 1957) is regarded by many as the preeminent Mexican painter. He married Frida Kahlo who was a painter in her own right. Rivera studied art at the Academy of San Carlos in Mexico City and was sponsored by the governor of the state of Veracruz to continue his studies in Europe. His work hangs in museums in a number of countries.
